Thoughtful Update

Has it really been twelve weeks since I updated this thing?  I've been meaning to update my journal dozens of times, but it feels like in the past few months everything and nothing has been going on.  So here's a quick summary:

We now have a cat!
Jeremy and I were talking about having a cat for a long time, and about two months ago we went to Toronto

*Whistles* Sounds like there's been a lot happening! Congrats on Milly, and on Jeremy starting law school. I can't imagine the workload, but it is a profession in demand, and I'm sure it'll be well worth it.

PhD is definitely a big step, with pros and cons on both sides as you've suggested. Can't really say much more on that as I've yet to try for my own, but here's hoping things work out for whichever road you take!

Annnd, I really really cracked up when I read 'law-talkin' guy.' Sometimes I really hope and believe that those are awful, nerdy nods at me!:D

...The lapse in time aside, I really loved reading this. I don't know if it's the beautiful day I've spent outside and the optimism/sense of perspective *I've* been feeling these days, but you certainly sound self-assured and very happy to face any major decisions you have ahead. Can't wait to see you!

Hey, good luck. I know you have the brains but I'm so proud that you want to go further in academia. If you can afford to do it (I know it's easier to do it in Canada than here financially speaking) then you are a lucky gal! I know how rewarding it will be for you.

Congrats to Jeremy...the both of you are devoted and that says a lot. Good luck!
