Good for you for getting out of that. No one needs that kind of drama from the past, whether it is from friends from a less than savory part of your life or info on your heart-breaking scummy ex-significant other. I can say you were more resistant to temptation on one of those issues than I was when I faced it.

Please take care. :)

I didn't resist temptation at all! My only difference is I was just as hasty in ridding myself of it ;)

That's precisely why I've never been interested in MySpace and that sort of site. It's a popularity contest full of bad web design and drama whoring. I'm registered at MySpace primarily to reserve my screen name (katiescarlet) in case I ever want to do something with it, but I've never done anything to my profile or friends list. It's way too much drama and spam. I don't need it. I love LJ, where I can carefully filter and categorize every post if I want to, and I don't have to feel like I'm in a fishbowl. Er, well, I like fish, but you know what I mean.

Anyway, I'm sorry you had to deal with all the garbage, but you made the right decision in just dumping the whole site.

MySpace is the ugliest-looking design on the planet. Hideous! There is no way to make a pretty site based on that.

Good thinking reserving your name though, if at least to guarantee nobody soils your good name with idiocy!

*Ack* I've been weary of Facebook, Myspace and other sites of the same kind, and here's another reason why. It's an unneeded experience in social drama, which, while for some is a reason to sigh up, for me is a big turn-off. Bummer that you had to deal with that, but it sounds like you made it out well. No point in keeping something that irritates when you really don't need it.

I'm *still* finding weirdo relatives who apparently tried to find me on Facebook. Who does that?! It feels like such a violation of privacy!

Well, you did it Beth. In one swift move you convinced me to ignore everyone telling me to get Facebook.

Though no one from high school ever tracked me down on myspace. I couldn't even find anyone from my high school class. I tell myself none of them have ever heard of the Internet and this makes me happy.

you'd be surprised. I'm amazed by the monkeys that have apparently learned to type and google from my old high school.

When you mention it, I do have an odd curiosity as to who might be looking me up...But I'm not gonna register to find out:)

Yeah.... why did I get mine? I can't even remember. But its not even under my name. And its private. But I never do anything with it either.
