Dude... you are so driving the bus... that makes you a psychopomp! I love the word psychopomp, it's just cool... though not to be confused with psychopump which would be a substitutiarily locomoted high-heel. I need to cut down on the sugar...

BLAM?!! You mean after going through the hell that was WWI, the dude got hit by a bus?! BLAM?!!11

That's like the ending of that horrible book that the Jaydawg read back in dickety-doo where the hero and the heroine pine for each other for 300 pages and finally when he gets it and decides to go for it instead of pining after her a la Amelie, he serendipitiously sees her across the street, calls out her name and as she runs to him a la those old feminine hygiene commercials, she gets hit by a bus and dies. The End.

Well, kind of. Somehow it's not trite, though.

>she gets hit by a bus and dies. The End.

Someone seriously wrote that book? Seriously? Ew.

YES!! C'mon it was a totally original surprise ending. Come on, now. And, no, that someone was not ME. I would've had the heroine hit by the bus MUCH MUCH earlier and then she would've communicated with him via a Ouija board or something and then he would've been all frustrated and stuff bc he was so in love and then he would've done the ultimate sacrifice for love and ran in front of a bus so that he could joing his Beloved in the hereafter except that it turns out that she went to Purgatory and he went to Heaven for being such a shlub and they never meet EVER ( ... )
