[Lily is sitting on a bunk in the Tempest, looking thoughtful]
I suppose it was too much to hope for, that I'd be able to stay neutral throughout this entire affair. Still, if I had to be drafted by anyone, I'm glad it was the Republic. Gladder still, that Ad - ah, Captain Saffron is going to be the one overseeing the Outworlders. [a faint smile]

If I'm honest, you're one of the people I would rather see taking this over while I can't. I trust you, and I know you'd do a good job.
[OOC: IF YOU WERE WILLING i would actually be up for this becoming a permanent thing! She's been leader of the CA for a while now, and I'd really like to explore her character away from that, if you'd like Buffy to take over the CA? IF NOT THAT'S COOL TOO!]

Flynn and I were drafted, Tron wasn't. Which strikes me as a little weird; sorta expected it to be the other way around for Flynn and Tron. But anyway, Flynn got himself reassigned someplace where the draft won't be a problem, and I don't think wild horses could keep Tron away from Flynn's side, so he'll be going along.
Myself... well, I've really got no excuse not to go along with the draft. I don't like it, but I'm not about to get myself arrested or bring trouble down on Flynn and Tron to proove how much I don't like it.
Tron seems to be under the impression that the whole draft thing is some kind of evil plot to kill us all or something, though. [He shakes his head slightly at that with a mildly exasperated sigh.] Admittedly, from what he's told me, he's got good reason to be suspicious, but still...

I've spoken to both Flynn and Tron so far, they essentially told me - well, exactly that. I think it's very unlikely that this is an evil plot to kill us. So far, the only people who've been draft that I know of are people who are full legal citizens of the Republic. I don't know for sure about the people who haven't been, but I suspect they weren't entirely truthful on their registration forms. The draft has been conducted on ordinary citizens as well, and the Republic has been in dire need of new troops ever since the battle over Ithor.
If you want to get out of Republic space, though, I can get you out. I just wouldn't be certain about when you could come back.

Yeah, I don't think it's very likely either. But he's apparently lived through two times that it was an evil plot, so I can see where he might think that.
And that makes sense. Also probly why Tron wasn't picked. I caught a glimpse of his form; he wrote it all in binary. [smirk] I'm assuming he actually wrote what they wanted, but I don't think anybody could read it.
[He seems to think about her offer for a moment, then shakes his head.] Nah. I've already pretty much decided to go along with it. Show everybody that we can be responsible citizens, and all that good stuff. Also, none of my future plans include getting arrested, and getting paid for fighting won't hurt matters either.
Though, I'm still looking forward to working with you outside the military too. Recent events have put kinda a crimp in my practice time, but I should have something to show you before I most likely get shipped off.
[OOC: I'm assuming that Axel did have that planned lesson on ( ... )
