[The datapad clicks on to the video of a rather frantic looking Rose.]

I've just had a really, really weird dream, I was hoping someone could shed a bit of light on it. I don't... really think it was a dream. I think it might've been a memory.

Someone- Flynn, I think. The Doctor talked about him, is there any way I can- or Tron? I've... are you two ( Read more... )

I'm Flynn. As far as I know, yes, we are both all right. What happened?

Hullo. I... dunno, I had a dream about you, and him. And someone else that wasn't you, there was an attack. I don't really understand it all, I think... I think it might've been a memory, but not yours.

Ah... [softly] Tron comes from a world where things are slightly different. A world inside the computers. There, the programs generally look like the programmer who wrote them. If you saw what I think you may have, the one who attacked looks a lot like me.

Either way, that's in the past. Both Tron and I survived, although things got complicated after that. But we're all right now.

Are you?

[She furrows her brow as she listens, but does seem a bit reassured.]

I dunno. I think so. It felt really... he was frantic. It was like... when I saw my dad die, all over again. Just... different.

By the sound of it, it's been going around. Chances are, Flynn or Tron wound up with one of your memories in exchange.

They- they've got one of my memories? That's... I don't like it when things are in my head, that's just... really weird.

What about you? Has it happened to you?

Also, hello!

Uh, yeah. [ There's an evasive look, then a thin smile. She dismisses it quickly. The last thing she wants to do is talk about her experience. ] I don't think anyone likes it. But, on the bright side, it seems like it was just this one time. I wouldn't be too worried about the memory levee breaking and the splash zone turning into the flood zone, brain-wise.

[That's a look she recognizes. No worries. She's not one to pry into subjects people clearly would rather be dropped.]

One time is good, but still... I wonder what he saw? It's gonna drive me crazy until I figure it out. It could be... really bad. Weirds you out a bit, though, to think this stuff could just... happen, any time.

That doesn't happen?

- sorry. I mean, people don't dream they're totally different people that often?

Typically, no. Why, have you been having a lot of those sorts of dreams?

Oh. Maybe? I'm not me, in most of my dreams. For as long as I can remember. They're not usually all that vivid, but I'm not myself, and I'm not on my homeworld either. Usually.

So that's... not normal. [He doesn't sound thrilled to hear it.]

[Tron's own sleep - a rare beast in and of itself for the Program - was disturbed by his own horrifying dreams. It's not that he's not used to them. Even in the Digital world, there are dreams. But only his flashbacks to Rinzler are this real, and only rarely at that.

His first instinct upon snapping awake was to reach out through the Force for the Doctor, frantic and worried more then he'd ever expected to be, only knowing the User as little as he does. He'd found him easily enough, seemingly alright from what he could tell so far away, but that hadn't eased his tension much at all. Had he been really paying attention to the datapads, he might have known it wasn't an isolated event. As it was, when he hears that voice erupting over the lines, terrified and confused, he'd snapped out of the meditation he'd desperately been trying to achieve to calm his nerves, scrambling over to snatch the small device up from the table and switching it on in the dark of his room with a similarly confused, frightened look in his one good eye.]I ( ... )

[Rose is startled by the appearance of the young man on the screen, but she looks instantaneously relieved to see him, and even moreso when he actually starts talking. The dream brought on the thoughts and feelings and fears of the person who owned the memory, so actually seeing him brings up a sort of... connection that hadn't been there before this whole fiasco started. She'd known Flynn was alright, he popped on a second or two before Tron, so when she sees the other half of the duo, she visibly relaxes.

She's also pleased to finally be able to ask him if he had any turnabout, because she really doesn't like the idea of something messing around in her head, trading memories even more so. She's got a collection of really personal things in there, not to mention a few that are terrifying.]

Yeah, I'm Rose. Got a few people together a few times, try and boost morale, you know.

[She takes a deep breath, and bites her lip.] I saw... Flynn and... and someone that looks like him. He came on a bit ago and explained it to me, but he was ( ... )

[It's strange, the way the dream makes his protective but somewhat detached feeling for the Users of this world instantly log her image into his mind as [USER-ROSE: ALLY. PROTECT.] in a way that doesn't normally happen so quickly. There are too many Users here for him to latch onto every single one of them to try and keep them safe. But she'll be one of them now, as long as she's here in this Universe. Tron's loyalty is hard-broken. Luckily, when she visibly relaxes, his own stress seems to melt a little more. She's ok. The circuits visible on his skin - infinately more detailed and intricate then they had been when displayed through his armor back home - dim visibly when she begins, a sick sort of expression crossing his face before he's locking the link down to a private connection.]

[She frowns at the explanation, or the pieces of it. Betrayed by a friend. She was starting to grasp this whole program-programmer, user, computer thing. She was quick with getting new concepts. She chewed on her lip as she listened, at the look on his face.]

I'm so sorry. That's awful. No, it ended with Flynn getting away, with the pair of you fighting. I didn't see who won, or if he got away safely, or... or anything, that's why I was worried.

[The question, on the other hand, catches her off-guard. He didn't know what it was like to have a family? That was so sad. As a person who loved her mum like you wouldn't believe, who loved her dad even though he was deceased most of her life, she couldn't help but sympathize.]I dunno, sometimes a family isn't something you're born with, it's... something you forge over time. Having a dad is like... a man you look up to, who you trust, who'd protect you and teach you the difference between right and wrong, who you love. And a mum is someone that cares for you, and nurtures you, and nags at ( ... )
