[ So Tony Stark has been known to build things in caves with only boxes of scraps. Now he has moved up to building things in Apartment D-1 with disassembled clothing droids and various other pieces of equipment that he has procured somehow in honest and dishonest ways ( Read more... )

[She's gonna smile at you.]

So, do I get one of those? [Pause.] And what main project?

[ Oh, if he could take a picture and make a mask of Pepper smiling for her to wear at all times! ]

Usually I'd charge for these but how else would I be able to keep track of my meetings if you don't have a functioning calendar planner?

I feel like you already know the answer to that one, Pepper.

Oh, I'm sure I'd manage. But it's the thought that matters.

[Her lips purse, but she nods. She never liked the Iron Man suit, because that was him being one of his weapons. But she knew it was something he had to do.]

Do you actually think you'll be able to get all the parts you need? I mean, the technology is different here...

As long as you don't mind a prototype, I can give you one pretty soon. It all depends on how nicely you ask though. Maybe we can make it an early/late birthday present.

[ He can see that she's not happy (even if he has no idea why) but then again, she never often is around him. ]

I've already put in several orders across the network so I'm taking whatever they can give me if gold-titanium alloy isn't something readily available. As far as making it work is concerned, I've got a few tricks up my sleeve, so to speak, that I'm willing to try.

ooc: tonight'll be the only time I can tag; I'm borrowing a friend's laptop xD

[Daddy's proud. Howard's eyebrows raise.] Nice design.

((ooc: Don't worry about it if you can't! No obligations! Hakuna Matata!))

[ Oh sweet merciful light up above, this is something he's never heard before!! He frankly doesn't know how to react.

Totally awkwards it up. ]

I'm sure anything's a better design than what they provide us with. It's close to the model I use at home.

[For Howard, the model's they received upon arrival were pretty awesome. So this could practically blow his mind.]

Sounds nice. [Oh, HELLO AGAIN AWKWARD.]

[ Those things were dinosaurs, you old fossil. And ugly.

And this just continues to get increasingly awkward, thank you Papa Stark.

He holds it up to the screen for a better look. ]

It's kind of nice. I said Pepper could have this one but I'm sure she'd understand if I gave it to you instead to look at.

[OK, so Axel isn't a computer expert by any means. But he does know that he likes the look of this new datapad. He does, however, have a question.]

Pretty cool. One question, though. Why would someone want birds on their datapad, angry or otherwise? Unless they were a nature lover or something, of course.

[OOC: Yes, Axel is not from Earth, so he knows not of Angry Birds. X3]

((OOC: I won't hold it against you, Axel.))

[ Regretting the Angry Birds joke immediately. He suddenly realizes that he's going to have to explain it to everyone in the entire world. ]

Oh yeah, that. To keep their pig infestation under control.

[Tony gets a look from Axel that is usually only directed at Tron when he's talking about computer-world stuff. Let's call it the 'you just said something really weird, man' look.]

...OK, I'm just gonna pretend that made sense, for both our sakes.

Seriously, though, like the new datapad design. I'm pretty sure Flynn'd like one, if you decide to mass-produce them.

[ It's okay, Axel. You're the real crazy one here. ]

Agreed.

[ He kind of makes a face at the mention of Flynn's name and the suddenly flash of his very Obadiah-Stane-ish face. He WOULD like one, wouldn't he? ]

I was considering it. It would definitely benefit our side to have more modern, functioning and superior technology to the ones we're against.

[Spike is going to focus on the most important part of this post.]

...you've got Angry Birds?

[ Obviously Spike has priorities and Tony is a businessman. ]

I haven't found Angry Birds to be compatible with the models they provided us with here. You'd need one of these Starkpads to control your pig infestataion.

[Of course he does. Now Spike's rolling his eyes. He wants his phone games, but come on.]

How come I'm guessing it's a bit pricier than the common iphone?

[ Your eyerolls don't hurt him, you can do it all you want. ]

They're a bit better than the iPhone too. I haven't made these available to the public yet but I'm willing to sell a prototype so you'll be able to play the newest levels before anyone else.

[ooooh, something new and shiny and better than what she has. Claire wants. She may be staring for a minute, and then she shakes out of it.]

What exactly is an Angry Bird, and why would anyone want one? [2007 is a hard time, being in the past and everything.]

[ It's not that hard to be better than the datapad. It would make Tony cry if he had a heart.

He holds the Starkpad up for Claire to have a better look. Yay 2008!

Though explaining this game is SO not what he wants to be doing when he just made this awesome new thing! ]

One of the many games you can play on this. Or tactic planning applications if you'd prefer to view it like that. I can't tell which you'd be more into.

video regeneracy November 1 2011, 03:33:18 UTC
... we'll stick with calling it a game and avoid using phrases like tactic planning applications outside of the war room. [She laughs, but looks all kinds of thoughtful as she stares longingly at the Starkpad.]

Are you going to make more of those? Because I have a dad that works twenty hours a day and feels the compulsive need to try and buy my affection, and I could really use an upgrade from this thing.

Fair enough. You never know with some of the people around here.

[ This deal is sounding better and better by the second.

He definitely identifies with these daddy issues though.]

Well, if that first part doesn't sound familiar. Anyway, I can definitely move your order to the front of the production line if you'd like to place an order through him.
