[The camera switches on, and Rose gives a subdued little wave.]

Hullo! I'm making tea.

Like, proper tea. Earth-ish tea, if anyone wants to come 'round.

Anyone at all. [Have a pointed little eyebrow, you know who you are.]

Amy, Rory, if you've got any questions about the place or anything, I can answer 'em. I'm in E-5.

[She gives another little wave, and ( Read more... )

Hullo, Miku! I'm out of biscuits, though, so if you want some, you'll have to bring 'em. Otherwise, I'm making banana muffins.

That's the one thing about traveling about in space that gets me. No matter where you go, the only place that makes a proper cup is Earth.

I'm Rose, by the way!

Exactly. Especially in England. Are you from England as well?

My name is Gwendolen Chant. Pleasure to meet you.

Yep! I'm an England girl. Nice to meet someone from the homeland, yeah?

I knew a Gwen! Lovely woman, too. She was welsh, though.

I wonder if the tea is as good as the purple chips, is there room for another?

Tea's twice as good as the purple chips. It's actual tea! And if you do a few more of those hand-stand things, you earn a season pass.

I haven't had tea in quite some time and for you Fräulein I'll happily oblige!

Tea. [In that 'are you fucking serious?' voice.]

Got anything...you know...a little stronger?

[It's been a rough few days.]

[She looks a bit amused, and holds up a finger.]

Give me just a sec.

[She disappears, and comes back a moment later.]

I've got three bottles of orange wine, and that alcoholic chocolate stuff people use in Mudslides.

[That sounds...perfectly vile together. Like kill braincells faster than a smartgun.]

I'm so there.

[She snerks in laughter, and gives the bottle a little wave.]

They're all yours, mate. I've even got muffins.

What's Earth tea like? What do you make it out of?

- Back home the most common kind is made with h'kak beans. I don't like it much.

Beans? That sounds a bit like coffee. This is made of... leaves, it's sweet, tastes brilliant. D'you want to try?

sand_wormie October 19 2011, 00:06:51 UTC
Coffee... I don't know. Is it called that because it has caffeine? Maybe like caf beans? H'kak is to relax with.

Sure, why not?

huffpuffblonde October 19 2011, 02:07:14 UTC
I... think the word caffeine came from the bean, not the other way around? I'm not sure. Sounds about right, though.

Tea's made for relaxing. If you're English, though, it's used for everything. Birthdays. Christmases. Waking up, going to sleep, weddings, funerals, the cold. Someone buys a trampoline, you have a cuppa.

You can come round, if you like, we're in E-5.
