If that hadn't just happened on national broadcast, no one who knew would be that upset about it.

I take it the guy wasn't popular? [HE'S KNEW. OKAY, AND HE'S TRYING ;A;]

... He was secretly a terrorist bent on destroying us all, one horrendous attack at a time, or so it seems.

PRIVATE cause you're kinda still his bro even if he's pissed as fuck at you rn

If you want to make it personal, he's responsible for Shepard's current state.

[He's about to say something in response to that first bit, because even though that sucks, Kaidan is generally a by the book sort of guy, and even he can see how this is going to have negative fall out. But then Shepard comes into the equation]

Huh. Woman's got good aim.

[See, Garrus knows what to say. ;D And he didn't feel like a long, drawn out moral argument right now. The bad guy was dead. Everyone should be celebrating.]

Not bad for point-blank, [He allows, but without the familiar turian smirk to go along with the words.] You saw-- you heard about what happened with Joker, right?

Too bad. I'd have liked to take the shot myself.

You and me both. I'd have done it with a bit more style, of course.

I'd been thinking about getting a matching scar. You know, for aesthetic balance.

The ramifications of this event will be troubling. A breaking point is no doubt being reached.

It's been breaking. You let scum like that run free while the people that could've stopped it are wrapped up in all the red tape, and there's not much left to salvage by the time someone is allowed to actually do something.

Perhaps. There was tension, old and new, deeper perhaps than we can understand with only our limited knowledge of this system and it's ways. Sometimes it is only when something begins to crack that it can be repaired, stronger than before. Sometimes it simply breaks.

[he pauses] I am curious, do you believe what she has done is the right course of action?

And once it breaks, you can clean up the pieces and build something new. Something better.

[Garrus rubs his forehead, irritated and tired. Instead of answering right away, he replies,] I ever tell you about this case I was working once, on a salarian named Doctor Saleon?

I'm sure we'd all have felt a slight pang when we realised he wasn't brightening our weeks with those insufferable broadcasts.

If his broadcasts were newspapers, I'm not even sure it'd be worthy to line the cage of a space hamster.

draco... thinks you are strange... and merlin why is he agreeing with a non-human? doeswhathemust September 13 2011, 08:21:09 UTC
It would be oddly appropriate. Shite written by vermin covered in vermin shite.

[Garrus looks amused indeed.] I wouldn't go so far as to insult the hamster.

But, now he gets to go down as a martyr instead of a terrorist. If he wasn't so cowardly, I'd say he planned the whole damn thing.

The power of the press. Don't tell me the Admiral didn't take that into account.

If she did, I don't think she took it into the right account.

[A pause.] I see prison was no match for you. [Since he hasn't... really talked to you since then >.> He meant to. Really.]
