{Locked to the Caterpillar Alliance}

[Someone's looking frazzled. Still, her tone is calm and even as she addresses the datapads] I just want to let you all know that the Republic has the wrong end of the stick, and it wasn't Catty who set bombs. Out of respect for her privacy, I won't give you too many details, but this whole situation wasn't ( Read more... )

[He smells a giant headache in the making here, but he'll hear her out]

You've seen the tapes, I take it. It looks bad.

I've seen them. [a pause] Catty's a close friend of mine, sir, and I want to keep her safe. If the Republic military found out how she managed to get on those videos, she wouldn't be safe any more. But - [sorry Catty, it's either he finds out or you stay in jail forever] She can view the past, essentially. Not change it, but see what happens. She wanted to find out the true identity of the bombers, so that she could help the Republic. [She twists her fingers, looking for all the world like a worried, nervous teenager] It looks like she was there, but the truth of the matter is that she was with Claire first, and then Kyp Durron when the explosions went off. She was trapped under rubble, and he rescued her - I'm sure if the Republic were to check, she'd still have injuries consistent with that. There had to be other witnesses, potentially video feeds, that place her elsewhere.

[She draws in a deep breath] And, well - the video was supplied by the Sith, wasn't it? Even if it wasn't tampered with, they're hardly a reliable source. And ( ... )

[He listens carefully, brow furrowed. This is messy. Messier than he expected.]

Time stamps can be altered, which is one of the reasons they're still holding her in that cell. [He rubs the bridge of his nose] But I believe you, about her ability. I've actually met a time traveler before.

[An important question:] Did she see them? The bombers?

[She nods, sighing] I know. But - thank you, for believing me.

She did. I've already passed the information on to the Republic. Admiral Saffron is honest to a fault, and she has more resources - and legal authority - to search for them than Outworlders do.

...On a personal level, I want to tell you that I know it wasn't Catty who set those bombs off. She's risked her life time and time again for the citizens of Coruscant and the Republic, and has been trying to make a home here. The threats came from the Crimson Terror, and the likelihood of them wanting to work with any Revanite is minuscule to non-existent. She was injured in the hospital bombings - a wall fell on her, she's likely still bearing signs consistent with those injuries. The only thing Catty wants to do here is protect the innocent citizens and carve out a life for herself.

[She swallows] Not that I expect a personal testimony to mean much, but I just - I had to tell you. Beyond that, I'm transferring three image files to you now. Catty gave them to me before she was arrested, and I'm passing them on to you now because I believe you'll do the right thing with them. These are the real terrorist who set those bombs off. I don't expect you to believe me or her on that score, but I thought that - you ought to be aware of the ( ... )

It seems unlikely that she isn't the main culprit, yes. And many of us are unsure how it's possible that she could have been in three places that distance from each other in such a short amount of time. However, the evidence, as bizarre as it is...

[Onya shakes her head. That's divulging too much information now, and she is a professional.]

The fact of the matter is, your word or not, the evidence is stacked high against your friend, and she is not particularly cooperative.

But these images should help us, and perhaps, if Turner is innocent, it should help her out as well.

You must understand that we are doing our best for this galaxy. It is no vendetta against you Outworlders, personally. [Well. At least not for her. Some soldiers and officials like to listen to Emer a little too much.]

You don't have to say. Not that I think you would, but - I understand.

...Admiral, she's a teenaged girl who has been kidnapped from her home world, dragged into the middle of an intergalactic space girl, has been in danger of death more than once since, and just got arrested and dragged out of her home while watching her friend get shot. You might tell her that the boy your men stunned is fine, by the way. They're very close, it might help calm her.

[Lily sighs] I understand that you are doing your best for this galaxy, Admiral. If there's anyone in this Republic I would trust with that, it would be you. Unfortunately, you're not the whole Republic, and idiots like Emer Ikuh are widely publicised enough that you can be almost guaranteed that it is a vendetta against us for many other people.
