Do I need to credit you for your icons?
Yes, please please please do. It doesn't require much to type out my name in your keywords, but it lets me know you've thought to do so, and that makes me happy. It also means that people can easily find my journal via your userinfo page, which is an added bonus.
Do I need to comment on your icon posts?
Well it's not strictly obligatory, but I really do appreciate comments. It's nice to get something back from posting my work, but also it means I get feedback too, so I know what people like and what they don't.
Can I friend you?
Sure! It's great to know people like my icons enough to friend my journal, at it obviously means you get all the updates, which you may miss if I don't post in every community.
Can I hotlink?
Please, please, please don't hotlink. In the past I had a real problem with this and ended up re-uploading all of my icons to start anew. Please just upload them to Photobucket or wherever. Hotlinking is evil!
Are your icons bases? Can I edit them?
A lot of my icons dont have any text on them; I'm a big fan of colouring techniques, cropping, etc. But this doesn't mean you can edit my icons. None of them are bases which you can add brushes or text to.
Do you take requests?
Mmmmnhhh, request success is variable :-) If you'd just like me to add a word or two to an icon, then that's fine. But generally I won't do anything that requires too much effort. Wow that sounds lazy. But when I post an icon batch, I like to draw a line under it and start the next, not be asked to revisit a style I just left behind. So I guess you can ask and hope I'm in a good mood :-) Tutorials on the other hand, I love doing, so ask away for those!
Can I use your icons on sites other than LJ?
Yes, why not. I couldn't really stop you anyway. But it would be great if you could link back to dashing_icons@lj somewhere.
Do you accept affiliates?
Yeah, sure do! I've only got a short list at the moment but I do love affiliates. I really do prefer it if we share a couple of interests, and I'll only affiliate with icon journals obviously, but go right ahead! My affiliates post is right here.
