What.

WHAT.

"WHAAAT?!?!!!"

"Oh, there you are, Nick!" Maya looked way too happy about all of this.

"Maya..." Phoenix, on the other hand, looked like he wanted to slam his head against the nearest wall. "...Pardon the expression, but what the HELL are you doing?!"

"Oh!" She clapped her hands together. "You came in late, so you didn't know. Mr. Edgeworth wanted me to teach him the Boogaloo!"

"......."

She looked down at her toes. "I mean... he wanted to know how to dance it... because he'd never heard of it before..."

".......Maya, I have a Magatama in my pocket. Your lies are transparent as Larry's testimony."

Maya pouted. "Ni~ck! That's not fair!"

Suddenly Edgeworth came up and put a hand on her shoulder, chuckling gracefully. "What you meant is I was sitting here, perfectly content with my life, when you came bursting through the door demanding I participate in the dancing of something called the 'Electric Boogaloo'." He crossed his arms and tapped his fingertips at his elbow, looking down his nose at Maya. "Perhaps that would ring true to our esteemed defense attorney's ears?" A tiny quirk of a smile tugged at the corner of Edgeworth's mouth.

"Uhhh..." Maya pouted. "Yeah... maybe... kind of..."

Phoenix just shook his head. "And... you let her teach you??"

He shrugged, shaking his head back and forth and lifting his hands helplessly. "I was, in fact, quite bored. You'll recall I was sitting on your hopelessly lumpy couch, with nothing better to do. Waiting for you."

Eesh. He hadn't been that late, but...

But...

"...What is with that smirk, Wright. I do not like it. What are you thinking."

"Oh, I was just thinking it might be worth it to be late more often..."

"..........."

"Only next time..."

"......................."

"...I'll have a camera at the ready."

The landlord was very upset that day. She had to have a Talking To with Phoenix Wright, who was already on her blacklist for things like rent, cleanliness, and proportion of underaged girls sleeping over. But never had she had to reprimand him for running and shouting through the halls before, and especially not while being chased by a rabid man in a pink suit.

She also thought about reprimanding him for the OTHER part of his evening activity... but, on second thought, she had nothing to complain about. In fact, she was going to install some security cameras in the stairwells... because if that had any chance of happening again, she was definitely not going to miss it.
