I just wanted to play for a half hour or so when I got home from dinner last night, but I ended up playing Symphony of the Night for about five hours straight until I beat the game.  192% complete, and I managed to get all of Alucard's original gear.  I think this makes three Castlevanias beaten in the last two weeks!  Symphony of the Night overall

Yeah, I agree on the music in the second half of the game. While it's good, it's not nearly varied enough - I liked that the regular castle had distinct music pieces for every area and they all fit very very well. The second half was more chaotic and had appropriate music for that, but there just could've been more of it. Oh well, the soundtrack is still rockin' awesome and certainly better than Yamane has done since then (I still can't believe her name is attached to the travesty that is the Suikoden III score... ugh).
