Some of you know this. Others may not. I've alluded to this at times, but I don't know that I've ever come out and said it in this journal, so here it is:

Me and a girl in one of my reference classes are going to do NaNoWriMo together, in hopes that we both will actually finish this year.
We should check on each other every day, and ask how much we've written.
I have an actual plot, and a kind of outline, so writing this year will hopefully be easier...

Have you been to the forums? They've got regional message boards, so you can meet up with other people in the area. I'll be going to a few "write-ins" with my laptop...

I still need to come up with something besides a one-sentence description of the plot. Hmm. And I should probably create some characters too.

Knowing when to end a serialized comic is a critically important skill. I really wish that people like Pete Abrams had the guts to say "I'm interested in doing something else." rather than completely changing the spirit of his strip.

Best of luck to you with your novel and your future projects!

Thanks!

I actually already changed the spirit of my strip once, back when we launched this giant story arc. It was something that'd been in the works practically since the beginning, but there were a lot of people who preferred the earlier Scatterplot to the story.

So I've learned that I really need to stay consistent in terms of what people expect from and get from the story.
