LoM has just walked off with most of a Siouxsie and the Banshee's album ("Peepshow", sans the first track - "Peek-a-boo" - and the two tracks that Lucid Dreams refuses to give up, which are "Carousel" and "Rawhead"). Which is sort of an extreme departure from the former Adiemus centered soundtrack ( Read more... )

Hugin seems not at all surprised that Aldeci should be a plink point. He's fairly sure most of what's been done so far is guesswork at best. I think he wonders if *Aldeci* knows either.

u_u This would be the source of the saying that Aldeci insists he is NOT a Large Pink Elephant (aka, the glaringly obvious large plot point in the corner which everyone is trying their damndest to pretend doesn't exist.)

I think most of what's been done so far on Aldeci's end of things is pretty much guesswork, yes. Hausch is pretty solid, but he's also isolated. Aldeci's got a lot of strings to tie up to get any form of coherency going on. And Aldeci is still very firmly insisting on the whole not a large pink elephant thing. =P

Heh. Hugin notes that 'loss of memory' is both a problem he's familiar with on a personal level, and a very *indicative* title - implying that the specific memories lost may well be what the world is built on, even.

So the first question is - who, if anyone, remembers what others have forgotten?

And if no one at all remembers - what is the shape of the hole where the loss is?

....hrm. Alas, LoM has no Vansheidan equivalent. =P (to which Segreis says he is NOT a plot convenience, and unlike Aldeci he really really MEANS IT. =P)

Seriously, I don't know. Globally speaking, alot of people have forgotten alot of things, and the further down the timeline you go the more they've forgotten, but that's sort of what happens with history. =P On a more personal level, you could say Aldeci's a walking bundle of swiss cheese held together with random trivia.

Hm. Hausch says no. Aldeci has, more specifically, forgotten what people he came from, but has in no way forgotten what those people can do. [pokes at them] Aldeci would say that he hasn't forgotten anything beyond the normal glossing over one does of childhood events... but he also has no deep connection to those recollections. Mezeshk would say that he is purposefully altering his people's memories so as to excise certain traditions and traits that he's found to be less than civilized and not in keeping with his view of a grander future. Soooo it's all sort of ( ... )
