The plant just lost power for thirty minutes causing a momentary lose of pressure in the system. Regulations require a boil water notice if pressure drops below 20 PSI. This only happened in certain parts, but the whole zipcode was given the warning.

My plant is on the same system, but because we are at a lower elevation we had adequate water pressure. Your probably fine.

I showered in it too. Office has a water cooler, so I'm fine there. We'll have to boil eveything at home, though.

Technically you only have to achieve a true rolling boil, not wait 3 minutes. CDC recommends 1 minute of boiling (so that people will not stop too early when the bubble just start).

Thank you for the warning, honey. I read it on the water cooler thingy at Java Monkey this morning, then promptly forgot. Your post reminded me just in time; I poured my water out over the flowers in the front yard and got a fresh glass from a cleaner source. My GI tract and immune system both thank you. :)
