Dear CNN and The Rest of the World:

I'm sure that you guys were incredulous at the apparently positive/supportive reactions of certain Filipinos during the hostage situation the day before yesterday, in which a 56 year old civil engineer held 32 little schoolkids hostage on their school bus for 10 hours, on a hot summer's day, when they were ( Read more... )

Well said. Unfortunatly the human race is full nutcases and scumbags and the worst of the bunch are the ones that claim to be doing it for the good of everyone else, firstly because by doing so they tarnish people who want nothing to do with it but just have the misfortune to belong to that particular group, and secondly because to some extent it's probably just an excuse.

I agree that what he did was stupid and inconsiderate. And I am not surprised at the support people have shown him - it's like everyone is focused on the fact that no one was hurt; but the thing is, they could have been.

He had no place involving innocents in his scheme. If he wanted to stage a protest, why not gather like-minded individuals and chain themselves to the DSWD or DepEd gates or something?

(Actually, huwag na lang sa DepEd at baka lumala yung traffic doon, hehehe...)

You go, blue alien! That guy had absolutely no right to involve those children in any way, no matter whether or not anyone was hurt, no matter if he was doing it for the good. Kids are easily traumatized, and they don't need to be put through an experience like that- all for HIS need to do something. 10 hours?!? WTF?
