Wow, everything you've said in this post are my thoughts exactly! I feel that way too, a good deal of the time, my opinion on my own artwork is constantly going up and down! I've been spending the last 4 months working on my illustration skills so I can try get into childrens illustration, and hope to get an agent once I've built up a good portfolio ^^ And thats so weird, just yesterday me and my house mate were complaining about how horrible and samey all these filtered photo montage covers look for the top chart books, they have no character at all, make the stories appear samey to me as a potential buyer :S My friend told me that apparently people use stock images from the net alot, and the same photo can be seen on several different books if you look past the filtering and what have you!!
And congrats on the voice acting part, thats really cool to be able to play a character from a series that you love so much! :D

I think children's illustration is so perfect for your art. Best of luck with that!
Urgh photo montage covers are just...urgh. They're so lazy and uninspiring. I hate them! Doesn't surprise me at all that the same images get used repeatedly at all -_-;
