~1~ HICCUPS! So, I'm trying not to make all of my happiness be baby related, but this one was just a little bit too cool not to relate. ( Cut for those who aren't baby fans! )
Hehe well that's good to know! I swear I had resigned myself to either never actually realizing she had hiccups, or her never getting them in the first place. Next time I'll know what I'm feeling for!
I used to drive my mom crazy in utero - I'd get hiccups on an off for 24 hours! (That habit only went away when I got to be a teenager and I could use acupressure techniques on myself.)
Oh lordy! That was the sort of day she was having yesterday (though probably not quite as frequently as you mean). G had hiccups for over 8 hours once, that was miserable. He teases me that at least he knows she's his now, though.
For me, I've managed to convince myself with 100% certainty that if G tells me to stop hiccuping, I will. It's like a parlor trick!
I never understood why people like to feel babies kicking or moving.
Some of my extended family have been known to feel up lady's bellies without even asking first, thinking it's totally acceptable. As if a woman's belly is public property.
That came out less-happy than I meant. Should stop replying to posts at 4:30 am. I'll end on a happier note.
I think it's maybe a mixture of the specialness of feeling at the exact right time (them buggers are hard to predict!) and just... it's so WEIRD. It's like the 'smell this milk' phenomenon, but cuter.
I've been REALLY lucky so far on the whole public property score. At 8 and a half months, I've had maybe three people ever ask to touch me, one was a choir member, the other two were G and his mom. I've heard horror stories, though! *shudders* I couldn't sleep forever either, here's hoping you ended up getting to bed and felt well-rested for today!
Hee! If I could guarantee you the kind of pregnancy I've had since 16 weeks (you don't want the first few, I had nasty morning sickness), I'd do it--it's been wonderful.
The whole prospect terrifies me and entices me in equal measures. My friend keeps on telling me scary things that put me off, but whenever I see a pregnant woman or my little niece I'm back to yearning again. To be honest the nausea doesn't worry me as much as it would some. I've dealt with colitis and IBS my whole life so I'm kind of used to nausea and tummy pains.
