I love this series SO much it almost hurts my heart!

I love how intently Not-Martha listens to his tale of Martha, and how she lets him cry, and that she spots his depression, as well. Methinks they need to talk more...

♥ ♥ ♥

If it hadn't been for your insights, your questions, your help and encouragement, I don't think I would have realised just how important these characters are to me -- and how important they are to each other! This piece would quite simply never have left the ground.

I have some ideas for a follow-up, but I'm not sure if it would take place immediately after this or some years later . . .

In any case, THANK YOU. This owes its genesis to you.

Aw, don't! I'm blushing now...

It was fun to discuss the characters with you. And if I helped, then I'm glad...

And if I helped ...

No if, you did help, and enormously, too. :)

I like this Not-Martha a lot, she pulls no punches with Handy and yet she's there to listen to him.

Thank you! One reason Journey's End was so unsatisfactory for me was the absolute lack of reflection about Martha and her relationship to the Doctor . . . in lieu of writing an AU, adding alt!Martha into the mix seemed a good way to try and deal with the pressing, unanswered questions.

I'm thrilled that you like her no-nonsense manner. Somehow she came to me in this form, I have no idea how or why; I suppose for exactly the reason you mentioned: that it enables her to challenge and question what happened to her in another world while reminding Handy that it wasn't him.

Your icon is incredible, by the way. :D

Thank you -- your support throughout this whole process meant a lot to me, and I'm gratified that the ending worked, despite its open-endedness. :)

Thank you! ♥ I have no idea where this Martha came from; one day I just saw her before me, smoking.

Now that you mention it, I'm beginning to have ideas for further pieces with the three . . . :D

Again, thank you for your lovely words -- they're deeply appreciated.

Very well done!

I really like the idea of Handy embracing his humanity and the differences in the way he behaves with Not-Martha versus how the Doctor might have behaved in that same situation.

And his learning to read her, the little glimpses of the future friendship that they might have, were great.

I really hope that you continue on with this series. :-D

Coming from you, this means a lot to me, more than I can say. THANK YOU.

Ideas for a continuation are already beginning to form in my mind . . . the possibilities for this universe are simply endless, aren't they? ♥

Aww, shucks...

Thank you for writing this! The world needs more of Handy's adventures over in Pete's World. *grins*

They really are. It's like having your own personal fic playground. You can do things with the alternate versions of known companions of the Doctor, create new companions, explore Handy's physiology, the workings of Torchwood/UNIT etc, alien invasions, or even give Handy & co. a way of traveling the stars themselves.

Hm. Writing all that makes me want to look over my WIP fics and get to typing. LOL

Oh, please do! Because the world really does need more of Handy's adventures. And if you ever need another pair of eyes, count me in. Just the thought of your writing his character makes me happy . . . :D
