Lady A Day 025: Tina Majorino

Apr 15, 2010 14:18

After mentioning Lady 024's stint on The Deep End yesterday, I was feeling a bit inspired.  Enter one Tina Majorino, former child star (remember her lookin' all dirty in Waterworld?) and cult actress to a degree.  I feel like Tina has pockets of fans, and I don't really fall into the Veronica Mars or Napolean Dynamite groupings.  I got a little ( Read more... )

Excellent! I think she's very fashionable in that pic on the right. Love the style there. But she wears "beachy" well.

I can't get past the wholesomeness. I still see the innocent smile and dimples from "Corina, Corina" there. I really should watch some of her later work besides "The Deep End". The promos looked enticing, but it irked me when I tried to watch an ep. Poor Corina :(

The Deep End blew chunks. Do not bother trying to watch it. I hope she does something else soon, though. Another cable show, mebbe? I feel like she's tough to place on network TV. Too quirky (and talented).

I hope Tina's next project is a heck of a lot more successful than The Deep End. Because really, that show was more like The Kiddie Pool Some Toddler Just Peed In.

Lolarious! Also, yes, to the young and wholesome thing. I keep thinking of "Corrina, Corrina".

I had totally forgotten she was in Corrina, Corrina. God, talk about movies I haven't seen in ages...

Awwww, love her! I think Corina, Corina, Andre and True Women cemented my love for her as a kid, and then with Napoleon Dynamite I was like zomg she grew up!! She's really ridiculously watchable.

I still haven't seen Napolean Dynamite. Worth it?

Hmm, depends what mood you're in. I absolutely LOVED it and laughed the whole way through. It's a just a really cute, quirky character-study. Very absurdist humour and very very quotable. It doesn't really have much of a storyline, so you need to be in the mood to just kick back and enjoy it.

So, yeah, I recommend it for sure! I think it's one of those films you have to see, because it had such an impact on pop culture. Plus Tina is SO cute. :)
