Оманский квартал
В апреле этого года в Минск приезжала делегация из Омана: выяснилось, что шейхи желают построить чего-нибудь этакое в Минске. Городские власти не стали отказывать дорогим гостям в возможности потратить свои капиталы и предложили им под застройку несколько участков, в частности квартал между улицами Богдановича, Купалы и рекой Свислочь, где сейчас располагается Вторая клиническая больница и выставочный комплекс "Белэкспо".
Проект разрабатывало английское архитектурное бюро Chapman Taylor. Предполагается построить в районе моста через Свислочь по улице Купалы бизнес-центр, а на месте нынешнего стеклянного павильона "Белэкспо" (бывшее ВДНХ, 1968, арх. Сергей Ботковский, Юрий Градов, Леонид Левин) - очередную пятизвёздочную гостиницу. Что будет с корпусами Второй клинической больницы, среди которых есть и постройки бывшего Троицкого монастыря базилианок конца XVIII-первой половины XIX века, пока не совсем непонятно. Судя по рендерам, вполне возможно их и сохранят.
Срок реализации: 2011.
Англичане конечно постарались сделать привлекательную визуализацию.
The proposed redevelopment respects the existing storey heights and urban scale of the historic heart of Minsk, a city of astonishing physical beauty and, for many a vital regional center at the crossroads of Eastern Europe. The scheme will re-create street frontages in the spirit of the historic environment. To the elevated west portion of the site is located the historic hospital, whilst on the northern boundary is the Opera and Ballet House and gardens. To the south east, on the opposite bank of the river, is located the Holy Spirit Cathedral. Each aspect offers different architectural references and typologies.
The scheme will provide a response to the three-level changes across the site, from the highest in the west where the hospital is located, the mid section where we propose the new five-star hotel, and the east and lowest position, where the Class-A office is located and the relocated formal gardens will be situated. Each level will address its own architecture in a unique yet sympathetic manner with the upper portion paying direct reference to the historic buildings.
