Maybe.. to keep from ripping it more or having another flare up.

Knee surgery is pretty good today...

If it hurts, and the surgery will make it not hurt...

Owie. *hugs* Mebbe it would be better to get the surgery then. A pain free knee is a happy knee.

I may be looking at knee surgery myself here eventually.

Either way, I hope you feel better soon! ^_^

Well, if you do decide to have the surgery, I hope it goes well! I won't have it until they make me, but I've got a surgery phobia. :)

If you do yoga on an iffy knee... pay special attention to alignment. Make sure the way your knee bends (especially in standing poses like The Warrior) goes directly over your toes. Don't let the knee twist to the left or right. Pay attention to having your ankles in alignment in the pose as well.

Remember the Golden Rule of Yoga: while you should feel "the burn" of the stretch, if it actually *hurts* don't do it.

Before you decide to have surgery on your knee you might want to check in with Duchess Illissa of house ShadowLegion to learn what surgeon not to use. She has been in and out of surgery several times now b/c her Dr didn't do the damn thing right.

You might also want to know that the way the residents at the med are talking it might be able to be done by laproscopically now or in the near future. It sounds like it will be the same kind of set up they are using to do laser back surgery now. Anyways, I don't know the details but I would definately check into that before I let anyone cut me up the old fashioned way!

I've heard a lot of times that knee surgery winds up being put off, but not avoided. You might as well get that done if it means getting through this and over it quicker. Plus, you can get a really cool pimp cane afterwards.
