Finished bowl

A week ago Sunday, I finished one of the bowls that I had started with the glue-ups mentioned in THIS post a couple weeks ago.

The one thing that stops me from getting into that is "What do I put IN the bowl afterwards?" I'm too practical.

It goes on my display shelf to show off to house-guests until the next SciFi Convention artshow or until Potrero war next May.

Darrel, that is truly a very beautiful bowl; is the conical shape just what came out of the process, or was that your intent all along? Is there a particular utility to that specific shape?

Just how big a bowl _Can_ you turn on your rig? Would a salad mixing bowl be practical, or is that stretching the limit?

The ringmaster tool can cut rings about 11-12 inches diameter, max... and that's if you rough-cut the material it to mostly circular first. My largest lathe-chuck for finishing the project can only handle an object about 8-9 inches diameter ( ... )
