You can see how much I pay attention... I've had you on my F-List for a couple years and didn't realize I wasn't on yours (lol).

Anyways, follow the "Wood" tag if you wish to peruse my past blogs that include my woodworking. I also have a Picture Gallery category for my woodworking here.

I've looked at the pic gallery. I can't BELIEVE you live in an environment where you'd even consider having a lathe outside. (get that paste wax on any exposed metal surface, stat!)

I want to do more with my lathe. I have the Jet variable speed lathe (Forget the size off the top of my head.) I'm more interested in spindles, and tops, than bowls.

I went out and purchased some "topCote" wax yesterday as recommended by the operations manual and cleaned up the small, but detectable amount of rust that had already formed, using WD-40 and a scouring pad.

My Midi-lathe that I need to send the control-module in for warranty repair is a Jet model 1014VS

I went ahead and coated the outside with the oil-based finish, only because I realized that the contrasting grain would fade and look dull over time if I didn't. Now the outside color "pops" as well as the inside does.
