Gosh, I've been neglecting this journal terribly, haven't I? Even Felicity's been writing in hers, showing up her big sister! And if I don't write in here more I'll have Jimmy on my back again, which is the last thing I want

Haha! What an old dear your aunt is -- perhaps we all ought to wish you a happy cake-day! It'd be wizard to have a sort of extra birthday each year, especially when the date is always a surprise.
I know just what you mean about these journals, too. Aren't they just a pain sometimes? I don't know what Bill and Clarissa do, not being able to write much at all about Thunder and Merrylegs. Can you imagine not even being allowed to write about the thing you think about most, and having to think up other things to write instead?
I'm awfully glad Jimmy didn't restrict my journal -- although when she looks at it next, I daresay she'll restrict me from writing about you!
What do you say we go find our dear co-head next week and haul her down to the field with us? She's not a bad sort, that Moira, and she does seem to have a talent for whipping the younger set into shape.
See, Sally, that's the thing, you always do seem to understand what I mean! And I can't imagine what it's like for them - I have enough trouble thinking of things to say without thinking about all the things I can't say as well.
I'm sure we won't have any trouble convincing Moira. And she is so pleasant whenever it's anything to do with games - if only she was like that all the time
It's terribly hard, Sally, when you can only think of one thing and you know it's the one thing you musn't write down. Sometimes this journalling project is frightfully difficult.
Sometimes I just pretend that the lot of you are horses, and it makes writing easier. Not that it's hard writing about Clarissa, ever except when I want to say proper things to her. Zerelda is a wild, showoffy mustang, and Clarissa is the most beautiful chestnut Arab - all sensitive and high-strung - and Darrell and Sally are nuggety little dapple camargues, and...
Well, really, Darrell. There's quite a large difference between supportiveness and unwholesome soppiness. And I know I can rely on you and Sally to tell the difference and set a good example.
Unwholesome how, Daphne? Sally and I are hardly soppy, but she is my best friend, I can't help but indulge in a little of what you'd consider soppiness at times!
