I took Jesse for one last walk a few minutes ago. He's not overly fond of long bouts outside, so I take him for a few small walks every day, rather than try one long one

Holy crap! You are going to have to start taking a recorder along with you if Jesse is going to learn to talk.

You might have mentioned this, but exactly why did you decide to start leash training your cats?

Yeah, I might have to carry a voice recorder. I had a cat that used to say, "OUT!" clear as day, as he stood by the door, but I haven't had a cat that spoke like that in years. Jesse sounded like a petulant child, it was eerie

Nope. I just never let my cats out. I would love to have a place where I could fence in an area with a fence roof as well, so my cats could go out a bit.

Oh, I believe you. Red wails a very distinct, "Nooooo!" when I'm about to dunk him in the sink for some blatant misbehavior such as jumping on the kitchen table.
