There is a God and he's Messing with My Head.

I've been listening to a lot of audio books lately. It helps to drown out the ringing, which is not going away. But, I'm not complaining. I've been doing enough complaining lately.

My latest book is Dewey: The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World It's a pretty good book, much in the vein of Marley and Me, except that Dewey is some ( Read more... )

I should have never read this book while PMSing, because it caused me to cry a lot, especially at the end.

Oh god, YES. I bawled like a baby at the end too. Marley and Me did the same thing. It kinda sucks that so many books about really cool animals ends with the pet dying. Yes, I know that the problem is that we outlive our pets, but still, I'd like to see someone write a book while the animal is alive and have it get published before the animal dies!

People need to write books about amazing parrots that will outlive them. Or amazing tortoises that touch people's lives.

Well, *looks huffy* speak for yourself. I had a wonderful sweet lovey dovey cat who made everyone he met love him back. But he died.

Um, whoops. I think I was supposed to tell a silly cat story. Okay, let's see. This morning both the remaining cats woke me up by purring loudly along either side of me. Last night Snowflake got worried that I forgot it was bedtime, because I was reading that lolarious lesbians in medieval spain romance, so every five minutes she'd run into the kitchen, lean up on my leg, stretch out one paw to tap my arm and chirp hopefully, starting around 10:15pm (the correct time).

No. That's not working either. How about this. The other night Snowflake puked randomly on the floor. But then Red came over and cleaned it all up.

It's just not working. I'm sorry Darq, but clearly God hates you.

I know, I know. But maybe it's more that he loves my cats, so he gave them to a person who he just knew would not only tolerate them, but love them.

I did have a perfect cat once. His name was Zaphod and I still miss him.

I must have gotten the sensitive caring ones to compensate for my tendency not to care about myself.

"Lolarious lesbians in medieval Spain romance"? Is that a book, and if so, where can I get it?

I have yet to see Marley and Me. I probably won't be reading this soon either. You are right they need "Happily Ever After" animal stories. My depression does not need any help. You are a great writer. I still reread your stories. X-S is great for cheering me up. Especially the ones where she is young. You could write one, I have faith in you. Writing a book is no headache at all. Yeah right. ;)

I dunno... I read over the stuff I've written and I cringe.

In an amusing twist of circumstances, shammash came into my old household on a balmy spring morning, crying in a patch of sun. And when eris_raven came in, it was a comfortably warm night. I guess no one mentions the weather when it's normal, for all we complain about it when it's bad.

this, of course, makes me look over at our three fur lumps lydiajen May 8 2009, 03:06:28 UTC
As soon as I got to that part I started laughing, inhaled my spit and then started choking/laughing at the same time because I have 3 fur lumps!

Granted one, out of my 3 fur lumps is an angel (Boo) but I can't say much for the other two (Goldie & Peaches) - and they're much bigger lumps too...in fact I think they have lumps within their lumps. Peaches is a very neurotic lump. Goldie is just a dumb & grumpy lump (hisses at everything except my husband).

When Boo is stretched out he looks as thin as a piece of paper compared to the two female lumps.

I have heard of that book. I think I almost forgot my aunt gave my mum a copy of it for her one-year sobriety present. I'll have to ask if I can borrow it.

It's worth the read. Of course, you'll wonder what the hell is wrong with your cats, because Dewey will have all of them beat. But, hey, Dewey was probably the Einstien of cats
