My HERO!

A very large bug got into my place today. And by large, I'm talking large by New England standards. It was maybe 2" long, rather beetle like with a fair amount of legs (six maybe? I didn't stop to count or buy it shoes, so I can't be sure) waving antena. It reminded me of a large, ugly roach. I have no clue what type of bug it was, I don't ( Read more... )

I will always ALWAYS love your cat stories and read them to my husband after cackling. Always!

Heh, I'm glad to hear it. I like knowing people are amused by my cats.

*laughs* Jesse is an awesome, awesome cat. I HATE bugs. I scream when I see one even if it's the size of a pencil eraser.

I'm not overly freaked by bugs, but I still don't like them in my apartment.

Jesse is awesome, I agree!

Awwwww. Goood Kitty. I love it when animals come to the rescue. One of my ferrets, long gone now, would do that. She was a very petite 1.5 pounds but pretty much fearless and enjoyed tasty bug snacks.

I've heard that there are some insects that are rather tasty, so maybe it's us who are too civilized that are missing out on something good.

I tried chocolate covered ants when I was a kid. But they were so surrounded by chocolate that I don't think I tasted any ants.

I wish my cats would do that. But no, they think that bugs make exciting play-toys and invite the bugs into the apartment. Because it just so happens that my apartment balcony is one of only two in the entire building that has a light over it, my balcony attracts bugs like crazy. The worst is the June bug. Those things are seriously creepy, and Calli loves to play with them. Though she does eventually kill her "toys", I usually have to dispose of the carcass.

Even though we found Jesse in February, it was a warm enough winter that I'm starting to think Jesse may have eaten bugs for survival. My other cats play with them, as your cats do, but Jesse leaps and eats, telling me that he knows not to "waste" them.

ROFLOL - that's hilarious!!! Sounds like one of our great big "Palmetto bugs" (extra large cockroaches). All I gotta say is, "Hooray for bug spray!"

I'm not sure what type of bug it was, nor do I care. I'm just glad it's gone!
