Sigh. I decided against buying that bass. I know I was all gung-ho about it and it was supposed to be an early birthday present to myself but... it wouldn't be financially responsible right now. I have other things to pay for right now that are way more important and I don't feel like struggling for the next two weeks

Well, I've got one but I hate it. I've had it since I started playing like 12 years ago and it's really more of a metal bass (because that's what I used to play/the types of bands I was in). Thunderbirds are so fucking hot and classic... mmmmmmm :(

I know what you mean, about outgrowing a guitar. I got mine in high school, and it's very glam or whatever, but it's really not me anymore. Sounds great, but if we are talking vanity purchase here, hook me up with one of these puppies.
