I don't really recall any bar scenes in "From a Buick 8," but I do remember in "The Talisman," the hero, Jack Sawyer, went on the road at 14 to save his mother, and ended up as an indentured servant at a honky-tonk bar, under thread of being turned over to the horse-dicked local Sheriff with a penchant for sodomizing juvenile deliquent runaways.
