new orleans is awesome. i went right before katrina. there are more voodoo shops than you can shake a stick at, but amke sure you visit marie laveau's tomb!! she was the voodoo queen of new orleans for a long time and it's good luck to mark 3 x's on her tomb and leave an offering and make a wish.

I've been obsessing about New Orleans for over a decade by this point, and since I've got some extra cash right now I've decided on a birthday trip. And my bday is Oct 26th! Heh....I also have this idea that in Oct it won't be too humid.

Spotted Cat - actually all of Frenchmen street, but in particular Spotted Cat to see the New Orleans Jazz Vipers play. Looks like they're now at DBA, right across the street, which is more of a fancy jazz bar like you specified you want to go to ( ... )
