Hey Julie you're writing again! How interesting to read a story from Sara's first person POV after her death. I think it's unique that she has no idea what happens to Michael; usually I think of the recently departed as being omnipotent, able to check up on us whenever they want. Here Sara seems basically powerless, caught in the inbetween space, choosing to wait, with only her thoughts to occupy her. As she says it's her faith in Michael that "grounds" her..literally! She just doesn't want to take that next step without him. And then Michael's appearance...Walking fast, eyes down, grim expression...I know you love badass!Mike (who doesn't?) but can't this guy even lighten up on his way to HEAVEN? LOL! It's kind of sad to think that Michael lived however many years with guilt and defeat until he can finally be reunited with his true love. Sad, but utterly appropriate and right for these two. I'm really glad to be able to read this, hope you enjoyed writing it.

I didn't mean to make Mike seem badass in this fic. He was meant to be sad and lost without his love and when he sees her his joy and faith comes back. And yes, I agree that I like to think the recently departed are omnipotent, but Sara did not move on, she stayed in limbo waiting for him.

I came over here from foxriver_fic. I'm slow because I didn't get that she was in heaven until I read the comment above. In defense, I'm really tired. Anyway, this is all we have left - hoping that whenever Michael goes, he and Sara will be together again. I'd like to thinkt his is how it will happen but maybe with Michael a little happier to be in heaven.

LOL, I didn't want it to be clear where she was until the very end and kudos to anyone who figured it out beforehand. This is the only thing that TPTB at FOX *shakes fist* have left me with, imagining they have a happily ever after in the ever after! And Michael is happy when he sees Sara, but he has only just died, so his soul is still caught up in the events that have happened to him. When he sees Sara then he feels joy again and regains his faith.

OMG!! I've just found this and I love it!! And silly old me; I thought the character death in the header meant Frank Tancredi (what an idjut?!!) and I really never realised until I read the words Are you ready? that Michael had died and they were reunited!! I really thought it was a denial kind of fic!

But it was awesome! And if they can't be together in this life they can at least be together in the next! Loved it! ♥

That was so sad, but at the same time really sweet. I loved the subtle hits you gave about where they were and what was going on. They died, but at least they are together. (I did get that right, right?) :)

Anyways beautiful writing! Thanks for sharing. Do you mind if I friend you? Lol, your list of links could be my list of favorites. :)

Yes, you got it right that they had both died *g* I'm glad you liked it and thanks for the review.

I've friended you back.

My list of links? Definitely comes in handy, lol.

I sought out this story after watching the first episode of season 4, and even after all that has happened, I still love this fic so much. It’s one of my absolute favorites. I hope you would write more of this kind again, you are such a talented writer.

Wow! Wow! I'm in awe!

*blushes*

It's such a nice compliment that you feel this way about a piece of work that I have written. I have a few partly written fics on my laptop but for whatever reasons I don't have the confidence to post them. Maybe I should do something about that then, eh?!

Thankyou.

This may be bordering on corny but I think your story was one of those fics which helped me “cope” with the realization that Sara was dead, when she was still “dead” to us. Because most of the alternate universe fics written after that time still had Sara alive, and I remember yours was one of the few which took off from HIAB, yet still managed to give that happy ending. I read it on the In Another Life community.

Do post your other fics, I'm sure I'll like them as well :)

Heh, this was exactly the reason why I wrote it as well. It really helped me to deal with Sara's (non)death.

Thank God for s4 now!
