Community Dilemma

Apr 23, 2017 00:24

We have a bit of a dilemma, in that we only received 22 prompts for our 2017 Dark Witches fest. I don't want to put on a fest that nobody is interested in, so I thought I'd ask the community what they thought the best course of action was. Since the fest hasn't run since 2013, I think the problem is that we haven't got a lot of the newer people to ( Read more... )

I've been full tilt with real life nonsense but I would love to see this fest run. If prompting does extend I will try come up with a few, it's just been bad timing for me.

Either way I would suggest opening up the options a bit for self-prompting. Or adding some very broad semi-open mod selected prompts (e.g. tropes, single word prompts etc). That way even if the number of prompts is low or people don't hear about the fest until after prompting closes they can still create something?

Maybe extend prompting and try to advertise more? I'd definitely love to participate. Maybe even just doing the fest, and then looking into monthly challenges maybe to interest more folks? Will definitely try to pimp more!! There's not enough HP Femmeslash in the world! <3

I agree with the sentiment that there isn't enough HP femmeslash in the world. Unfortunately, I'm not big into dark fics so I'm mostly giving my opinion as a lover of femmeslash.

I've run a small fest and they can be fun and cozy. I'd suggest extend prompting, pimp the fest, and as long as you have participants you're fest will be fun for those who enjoy dark femmeslash.

If you decide to keep running, I'll for sure give it a shout out on my comm.

I'm brand new to this fandom (was a long time Dramione fan, but this year I've expanded). I just found out about this today, but I'm looking forward to it and would love to be involved
