The question is, can you live with an accept it? If yes, then you just have to let it go and accept it and try to empathize with her position, or move on with your life. Those are the only two options.

no, literally. This time last year I thought Kat would be leaving for Japan mid 2014, I didn't realize it would take as long as it did, relatively, to get it going. Last year I was afraid of our home and life being disrupted, even if it is for the better, for her, and our long term, as at least one of us would have a good job and feel fulfilled. It was our anniversary and neihter of us got the other anything, even a card :/ She did make our favorite dinner though. I'm not sure why we didn't, I didn't expect anything from her, and could have afforded a card, or something small and cute to get her.
