It was still dark when Neville dressed and left his dorm room. He climbed to the top of one of the quidditch towers, facing east, and watched the sun rise. It was one of those perfect mornings, just the barest hint of a breeze. When the wisps of clouds had all turned back to white he started down the stairs. Neville had been whispering something inane and likely embarassing to the flowers, crooning really. He blushed, shook the dirt from his hands and turned. It was only then that the words made it all the way into his brain and if he had been able to he'd likely have burst into flames.

Ginny smiled at him. "Don't thank me. It's not much. I can't... " It was her turn to blush. "I didn't have any money. So I made you something. Sorry bout that. But," she added quickly, "It turned out all right. I hope you like it." She really was quite nervous. She'd made a necklace for Harry and a braclet for Neville using stones she'd found over the years. "I wish it was more." She cast a scourgify on his robe and his hands and handed him the present. "Open it."

"You made me something? I can't even... I didn't..." Stammering again. Fabulous. Neville smiled at her, grinned really. He pulled the string off with slightly fumbling fingers. The bracelet was beatiful - a single blue stone in a braided band. He felt a subtle power in the stone when touched it. "Hemp twine, right? What is the stone? This is..." Neville looked up at Ginny, eyes shining, "It's beautiful. Thank you so much."
