Hermione has as much patience as the next person but how much shopping can a person really stand? Here she was standing there tapping her foot while staring out of the window before her.
"Love, if you don't stop tapping you're going to lose that foot," Cedric commented.
"Aren't you done yet?" Hermione asked.
"Nope."
"How long can you stare at a broomstick when you've already got one at home?"
"Tsk tsk, love. To understand the wizard, you must first understand his love of Quidditch and flying."
Cedric's lips curled slightly in amusement as Hermione threw her hands in the air in exasperation. It wasn't his fault that she bribed him at the dentist and even though he feels bad for taking her to the Quality Quidditch Supplies, he thought it was adorable when she got angry. Looking away from the new broom for a minute, he can still see her huffing but at least the tapping has stopped.
"Why can't we go to Flourish & Blott's?"
"Now is it really my fault you promised to do anything I wanted?"
"No but why do we have to be here?" she emphasized with a touch of malice.
"Would you rather I try to teach you how to fly again?" he asked with a raised eyebrow.
Upon hearing that, Hermione had a horrible flashback of trees, bushes, and a huge bruise on her bum that still won't go away. Shuddering and willing for the memory to disappear, she glanced at Cedric to see him staring back at her. After a few moments, she looked down and hung her head like a child.
"I'll be good," Hermione relented.
Sighing, he left the dais that held the broom and went to her side.
Lifting her chin, "This time, I promise it'll only be just five more minutes in the store and then I'll treat you to Florean Fortescue's Special Sundae."
Hermione contemplated the idea for a moment before pushing him towards the Quidditch gears and taking out her charmed wristwatch. She saw him chuckle before taking long strides towards the other side of the room and couldn't help but grin at his youthful exuberance.
