Visibility.

jbmcdragon is doing that thing again. Writing interesting, thought-provoking things that make me want to write, too. She must stop.

Today she wrote about invisibility, specifically being gay (bisexual? Queer?) and invisible. On 90% of gaydars, JB doesn't ping. She's beautiful (gorgeous), feminine looking (most of the time), and passes for straight (pretty ( Read more... )

I can't wait until I'm standing shotgun by your side. And then you can be awesome, and I can go kick some balls in. >.> That would totally be good for the cause!

"Allow us gay marriage!"
"No!"
"Allow us gay marriage or JB will kick you in the balls and organize the femme army and -- HA -- it's much harder to hit a girly girl because other people will leap in to help them!"
"...okay, fine."

And then there will be cake.

(Also, I can just mention how very proud I am that we're both going back to the gym? Go, us! :D)

Can I be livid on your behalf, too? Even if I'm "mostly heterosexual"? And help JB kick 'em in the balls? Because I do love me some CBT. With kick-ass boots on.

Mostly-heterosexuals are both cool and very welcome here. :D

Though, just so you know, I'm taking a module of Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy at Uni, also shortened to CBT, and had a serious moment of confusion there. XD

*LAUGHS!* Y'know one thing that kills me a little about this whole butch/femme thing? I've been noticing it a lot. In a partnership, if the femme is wronged, the butch gets quiet and pissed and, if at all possible, organizes some pointed, low-key, but very memorable pain for whoever's responsible, and does whatever's needed to comfort their hurting girlfriend.

If a butch is injured, even if they don't totally acknowledge it, their femme is vocal and enraged and unleashes BURNING HOLY HELLFIRE, and still manages to not, uh, emasculate is the word I'm going to use, their injured partner. And there might even be comforting. Possibly ego-stroking, too.

*grins* I'm generalizing, but I kind of love it.

Hey - I'm one of JB's friends from the internet but I felt the need to chime in. I get mistaken for a guy all the time and I totally feel your pain/anger/desire to inflict pain. I never know what to do with those people and usually end up just shaking my head and walking off (all while choking down URGE TO KILL).

Also, cool Dean icon. :)

(perhaps those moments are what tazers were designed for...)
