So I got metaquoted yesterday, which was insanely flattering. And then I got a bunch of new people friending my journal, which was even more flattering
( Read more... )
Seeing that I stayed up till 2 a.m. reading Horizon the other night, I do not blame you at all. >.> I'm glad you enjoyed them! (I think Dag and Fawn are one of my favorite fictional relationships ever; I love them both, which hardly ever happens, and I think they complement and make each other better and wholer and I want a Dag of my own.)
Also, I wonder how coincidental it is that Remo is basically Emo with an R. I love him, but I spent a lot of time laughing at him. >.>
I think perhaps I hate the heroine of The Sharing Knife so much that there's no more room for you to hate her, too. *nods solemnly* Unless she gets better. I hated her with the passion of a thousand dying suns in the first one, slightly less passion in the second -- actually, I just liked the second one more overall -- but didn't get around to picking up the third. Does she get better? Because I like Bujold's other stuff...
And dude, awesome about metaquotes! We all knew you were funny. >.> *grins*
In other news, I'm home today after all! You should totally call if you get a chance. :D
I've read some, but not all of them -- and I LOVE them. (I need to send yours back, but I haven't read Cordelia's Honor yet so, uh, I haven't. But they're in a tidy pile where they won't get lost. ;-D) I also loaned Young Miles to my sister, because she reads fast and I thought she'd like it, too. Then she can borrow MY Miles books. *grins*
I find, though, that I can only read them a few at a time, and then I get ... I dunno, tired. There's enough going on in the plots that I have to pay attention, and much of the time I'm waaay too tired to pay attention, so I have to be in the right mood for them. But they're seriously good books, and I bought another few that aren't Miles books to see if they're good, too. Then I read Shopaholic books instead. >.> (Which aren't good, and it's rather like watching a train wreck. The heroine is a self-centered materialistic idiot, and yet I can't stop reading...)
But, yes. I rather like Bujold. :D Even if I didn't like The Sharing Knife. *laughs*
S'all good--wait till I get back to Utah and have an address to send 'em too! *grin*
If you like the Vorkosigan books but don't like the Sharing Knife series, you should really like the Chalion books. I've been rereading those too, and they're brilliant--with really, really strong female characters. Especially Paladin of Souls. I think you'll like all the religious stuff in them, too. :D
