This was freakin awesome! I have so many words to describe it..and Hot being one of them. I loved the timeline thingie too. I loved the whole thing!

I have to say I'm totally and utterly confused to why people are shipping Lamb when he raped her in the first chapter. I feel that the sex scene now is also a total violation of her, seeing as she is unaware of what he did. I could read this as a what if it had been Lamb, but as a shipper story? This may not be your intention at all. But I'm not sure I can keep reading this knowing what we know as readers and the shock that people are shipping them.

Speaking as one reader who has joked about shipping, it's not that I seriously ship them... Honestly, in the show, I was totally appalled that Veronica ended up dating Duncan after what he did (I don't believe he couldn't tell she was unconscious) and there weren't the other myriad complications of age and whatever there that there are here. Lamb absolutely raped Veroncia in this fic. No doubt about it. And then left her to be raped again because he was a coward. And the "consensual" sex is also rape legally, due to her age, all other betrayal issue set aside.

What fascinates me with this story is that I am disturbed and disgusted by Lamb... and yet find him strangely sincere at times. He is absolutely a pervert and deserves to lose his job and spend some time in a cell, and yet... I see how he is falling in love with Veronica and can't quite control himself. By rights, he is in the power position but Veronica unwittingly has power of him. It is an interesting role reversal.

Especially as we then found out she was raped before Duncan came in the room... and he couldn't tell that? Interesting.

I honestly wasn't saying anything negative about the fic, I was just worried I'd totally missed something and was supposed to be shipping them, which disturbed me on so many levels.

But both Duncan and Veronica were drugged- and not with roofies but GHB - so I buy it. Lamb, on the other hand, has no excuse.

Of course the dark creepy noir-ness is what attracted me to the show, and also to creepy wierd fic series like this.
