It must be winter...

I'm feeling much more introspective these days. I wonder if anyone actually reads my journal. It's not as though I write in it all that often, or hardly at all. But I enjoy reading other peoples thoughts and emotions. It makes people more real to me if I can read their thoughts mostly unfiltered in a journal-like setting. Of course I am ( Read more... )

Thanks. Well if you like my attitude, why do you want me to leave the elfwood journals alone? ;)

When did I say that?? Being happier not being there and having a good attitude in relation to Elfwood are not linked y'know ^_-

I think Elfwood is a lost cause (too big), but I personally prefer to see some good arguments still going on there - I fear for a generation of artists that don't push any boundaries and argue their case.

I browse through here somewhat infrequently; you usually have well-thought things to add to elfwoodrant and I try to click through and get a feeling for the people behind the posts I agree with. I suppose it is for many of the reasons that you listed above. This was a thought-provoking post, and I felt obligated to reply, though normally I am too shy about invading privacy to drop a line.

Well thank you. I often feel the same way about livejournal, shy about commenting that is. But it's nice to know that there are people who care enough to read, even if it's only once in a while.

What a deep and wonderful post - I find myself thinking the same way rather often.
It's really how alike we all are that matters, not the differences.
And the differences we do have should be cherished rather than condemned. Being different doesn't mean being wrong, just being... different. ;)

And yes, you have a very nice attitude, and very good arguments in EW-rant. ^__^

Strange that I should post so often in EWrant even though I'm not much of the arguementative type. But I do rejoice in difference, diversity is the best stimulant of the mind, to reject it is to isolate yourself. Unfortunately some people cannot handle anything different from what they think or believe, but usually those are the people who are not used to the status quo being challenges (envision your average smalltown america). I'm a city person though nearly all my relatives live in rural town 3-4 hour drives from anything that could be called a city, and it's my firm belief that their lack of diversity, their lack of challenging viewpoints and opinions make them fear the unknown as if it were the plague. I just think of the word isolation and all the different ways that word can be applied. Their ideas, their language, their opinions are all very isolated. So I strongly believe in diversity in all ways so that such inbreeding of minds might be avoided. At the same time remaining tactful so that fragile human ego is not ( ... )

Just wanted to drop you a line. I like to read people's journals for the same reasons you do. It allows me to get a glimpse of their real selves.
