It has long been a cynical belief of mine that political conservatism and actual thought were mutually exclusive. Even to me, though, it hurts to find out that this is actually true.

This explains everything. How can you hold self-contradictory beliefs? Especially if they work to your own detriment? How can you believe the lies that conservative

This is proof that a lot of people have "sheep mentality". They'll just hang around in a flock and follow the shepard... even if it takes them sdomeplace dangerous like a slaughter house.
