*deletes tl;dr part about me* Not being adopted, I can't honestly relate. But I can send sympathy, knowing how lucky you have been to have been raised in such a fantastic family (my parents were VERY young when I was born and adoption was a very real possibility), and I can send love and hope that this gets easier to handle. This is a position with nothing easy about it.

God, what a difficult position to be in. I don't think you should have to give up your relationship with your birth-parents, but it really is understandable that your mom is hurt. I have no advise but I send you hugs and sympathy.
