An hour had already gone by. Yuffie had said she wouldn’t be long, and that made him wonder just how long she’d be gone. Letting his thoughts wander, the executive looked around at the buildings. While Wutai wasn’t all big, it was unique. Then, something caught his eye. Hanging from the nearest building was a small red lantern, moving in the light wind. It wasn’t dancing or flailing, or anything poetic. It was just there, being pushed around, trying to return to its usual spot. Reeve thought for a moment. Was he moving forward, or still trying to go back?

“What I can only see with my eyes closed…might be the future…” She sang, watching the full moon with a dreamy gaze. She continued to sing until she heard footsteps on the ground behind her. “That sounded nice.” Adrian’s voice said quietly as the teen took a seat next to her, “What does it mean?” “What does what mean?” “You were singing in Japanese.” Sayomi blinked. The guy didn’t look like he was joking. “…I speak Japanese.” The dark-haired girl said flatly. “So do you.” She looked up at Adrian, who was shaking his head. “You don’t?” Sayomi asked, confused.

Sarah Jane stopped as she recognized Gita’s voice. This just wasn’t a good time. She turned around, smiling as she saw the lively woman approach, Haresh in tow. “It’s so nice to see you here!” She turned to Haresh. “See, Harry? It wasn’t a bad idea!” She turned back as the man sighed. “Are you writing a story about this place?” Sarah Jane nodded, looking a bit nervous. “That a girl, Sarah! Well, we’ve got our own something to do. We’ll see you later!” The sneaky woman declared before grabbing Haresh by the wrist and dragging him down the hall.

“Watch where ya walk.” Wendy said carefully, pointing down at the sidewalk. Looking down, Sarah noticed that small mounds of red dirt had erupted from one of the cracks. “Ants?” She asked. “Fire ants.” Wendy corrected. “Step on the hill, ‘n the suckers’ll be right up on ya. You do _not_ want them bitin’ ya.” Sarah nodded slowly before stepping over the line of mounds. “So, do we need to put up signs or tell people about them?” She asked Wendy, who was walking with her. “Ones on vacation, maybe. Most everyone around here knows about ‘em. They’re about everywhere.”

“Mailer…Daemon?” Sayomi asked, looking at her GHAST. Her frustrated look turned angry. “Don’t tell me there’s some kind of ‘demon’ in the system.” Hearing laughter, she quickly looked to Adrian. “It’s not a demon in the system. It’s the system saying your mail bounced back. It couldn’t go through for some reason.” Adrian explained, scratching his head. “What does it say is the reason?” “…User unknown.” She answered, reading. “Did you spell his name wrong?” “I can spell Taeko Matsuda…” She said, rolling her eyes. “Did you typo?” Adrian rebounded, crossing his arms. “Nope. Everything’s typed right.” “That’s quite strange…”
