Yea, my response was "Damn Yanks! Too damn literal!!!!!!"

I liked the British version. I had even begun to like aspects of the American version, but the ending just sucked.

Well, for having to wind it up in 1 episode (they got to film 1 more after told they were canceled) they at least provided an explanation.

Do we know what the original British version was supposed to end with?

I kinda had a big wtf moment at the end of the series thinking "THIS??? THIS???? What? Did the writers watch the series finale of Bob Newhart before writing this????"

But... I maybe can say that the best part was the Mrs. President.... Obama.... moment.

The british version ended with Sam waking up out of a coma in 2008 (I think 8) and jumping off a building in order to get back to (Anne) 1973.

Noooooooooooo!
Gene is not Sam's father.
That's just dumb.
