My First HP Drabble! (be gentle with me)

I went over to lj_scribe again - I'm a glutton for punishment - to see what this week's prompt was - and ended up writing my first HP fan fiction - the first bit of fan fiction I've ever written, actually - wonders will never cease!

I'm not sure whether to post it over there - I'd appreciate opinions on whether I should - I don't know if it's really the ( Read more... )

Thanks so much for those lovely sentiments, my dear - you're too, too kind, and I really appreciate the encouragement.

I was actually more nervous posting this, than if I'd posted one of my original fics - may sound strange, but that's the truth of it.
I'm glad you liked it - as to more, I hadn't initially intended to do any more with it, but since writing it, my mind's been busy building the dystopia it's set in, how it came about, with a few ideas regarding what's to happen in the future, and the fates of other characters from both sides of the war - so if it keeps up, there may well be more.
I think you're right, about not posting it to lj scribe - I had my doubts already, and the points you've made are very valid.

I was considering posting it on ff.net or GE - I hadn't thought of TPP - but wasn't sure if it was up to scratch - I'm very flattered you think it is.

*is sad* I am feeling the hoped for emotional response, so I'd call it a win. I mean, that's BLEAK. If I were Hermione, I'd try suicide by guard.

Bleak was definitely what I was aiming for - so thanks!
I can be a cheery little soul, sometimes, can't I? If I ever write another, I may try for a more upbeat theme - not in this universe, though - this one's not a happy place.

Did you see you gave inamac a plot bunny, with your Lucius Avada Kedavra post? I haven't read it yet, but I'm going to check it out today.

And good luck with your LBB story! Can't wait to read it! You have me intrigued as to the scenario now....ya big tease! lol!

@_@ Poor Hermione! It makes me shudder to think what torments Voldemort came up with for the others. This is brilliant, my dear. Not suitable for lj_scribe, perhaps, but I'm very glad you posted it.

You don't know me, I was led here while searching for the lj_scribe site. For some reason searching for it as a journal of community doesn't work. :(

Thank you so very much! I had my doubts about it's suitability for lj_scribe myself - hence the call for opinions - I really appreciate you taking the time to comment - I'll most probably post it on ff.net or Granger Enchanted.

If that is your first HP fanfic, I'm flabbergasted. You're already mint quality, DL. I could see Hermione as she dragged through each dreary day. How long would she last in that situation I wonder? Would her spirit's death cause her to shrivel into physical death? It feels like all her hope hasn't quite left her yet or she would cease to drink and eat. Excellent mood piece.

Thanks sooo much La Bib!.......and yep, it's my very first - I was soooo nervous posting this, and I've been blown away by everyone's lovely kind comments - especially by all you wonderful writers of HP fanfic!
You're all too kind - really.
It's been a very pleasant surprise, I must admit - and thanks for the encouragement - hopefully, I have a few more in me!

Well goodness, what a start! That was thoughtful and original in ways very few dystopian-esque HP fics ever are. I've read a lot, and they were all very similar, but this is really quite a clever direction to take it! I'm definitely impressed, and glad you've continued with the HP fics. :D

Thanks so much! And thanks for taking the time to read and comment on it - sorry it's taken me so long to reply - I'm glad it worked for you. When I first thought of this, I was a bit worried it would be a bit too 'outside the box', but I'm glad I posted it now - everyone's been so supportive and encouraging, it's quite touching.

Writing fan fic is quite addictive, isn't it? And lots of fun.
