The purse was a gift, so I can't tell you where to get one. It's not my usual use purse in the states, but it makes a great travel purse. I took it with me everywhere. It's got a nice sturdy strap, so I didn't have to worry about it getting snatched, and on the inside it has several zippered pockets, so I kept my passport and money in those. Most places I went I wasn't really worried about pickpockets anyway, and the bag hangs at just the right level that I can rest my hand on it easily and comfortably so it also would deter pickpockets. The one place that I would have been really concerned about (the big weekend market in Bangkok) was a place I didn't get to.

If you get the chance to go, I would recommend it!

I love this format for retelling the trip!

I've noticed that no matter what country I'm in, or how horribly I screw up the language, if I at least try, people will do just about anything for me.

Good tips if I ever go to Thailand! I'd like to someday.

"Toyland, Toyland" is the name of that tune. I'll cash in those cool points!

What was the weather like there? I can see from the clothing it was warm. Hot? Humid?

I'm enjoying all this information.

Oh, yeah, very hot and humid. Highs were in the 90s the whole time I was there, lows around 80. And very humid.

Glad you're enjoying!

Oh, I know all about the salesperson hover--you not only get that in India, but also in some Indian retail stores in the US. There was one sari shop in Atlanta that drove me a little batty with their sales associates following closely by as you perused the racks. Some times a girl just wants to browse--but after awhile you just sort of ignore them and go about your way. They're just doing their job. =)

Sounds like you had a fantastic trip! How long were you there?

I was there for four weeks. And while I was ready to go home then, I still didn't see everything I wanted to. One of these days I'll go back.

And one of these days I'll make it to India. It's on my list. I'm envious that you've been. I've yet to make it to any of the countries my heritage comes from. It's cool that you've done it. And India just looks like an awesome place. I may have a little trouble with the food though. I don't have a high spice tolerance.
