Last beautiful day

So when it's a particularily beautiful autumn evening outside, do you ever get the feeling that it's the last beautiful day of the year?

Unnatural! Heathen!

Spring is an overall miserable time in Finland, and I hate it so much. It's when all the snow that's accumulated over the winter starts to melt, turning the city into a big puddle of brownish goo with small islands of dwindling, wet, ugly grey-brown snow that gets everywhere and makes driving a hellish affair. On top of that, it rains a lot and it's still cold anyway. Yeah, every year I basically hope that the winter lasts as long as possible and that the spring is as short and painless as possible. It doesn't work.

Hah, I can see the attraction there too; I probably wouldn't mind the darkness and dreariness so much if it wasn't so wet and cold too. I'm weak against cold weather in the mornings, so getting up when it's dark, cold and probably raining to go to classes or work or something kills me. Granted, it's even colder in January and February, but at least there's snow to make up for it.
