I got an interesting letter from the university this morning. It begins:

Apparently I have been approved "in principal" for a loan of £3,000. If I get this (they're sending me the paperwork tomorrow, which I have to send back and then they call me again within 5 working days to finalise it), then I can pay off me student fees to go back to university, as well as both Nick and I's credit cards, Nick's OU debts and my old ( Read more... )

A little while ago there was this piece of legislation or something which meant that it was illegal for banks to charge more than £12 for unpaid items and the like. Now, this didn't stop the banks from charging their ridiculous amounts, but it did mean that people could start to claim back the charges ( Read more... )
