Looks like the latter option to me, seeing as Jelly does know how to play the part of house cat this could be her old roomie.

Well, Nick told me last night that there is/was a commune of sorts behind/under the motorbike shop ner our house that all the stray cats hung out at, so they could have gotten to know each other there.

He's mildly annoyed that I've decided to call this new cat Curious George.
