People are getting dumber, it seems, and I can prove it by looking at MastermindI can remember watching this when I was much, much younger, and seeing the contestants, with their ridiculously obscure specialist subjects, routinely getting overall scores into the 20s and sometimes even up to 30, and barely passing on everything ( Read more... )

C went on a rant when he caught an episode of Mastermind and someone's specialist subject was....."Harry FUCKING Potter! What the hell is that about?" His words, not mine.

I only tuned in because I saw that one contestant's specialist subject was "The Films of David Cronenberg" and I was hoping I'd know more than her. Sadly I didn't.

Although now I'm wondering if they'll accept the specialist subject of "Bad Italian Zombie Movies"...

Yeah she is finishing her PhD in Nursing and is also a Young Earth Creationist.

I've also met engineers who believed in a world wide flood as described in Genesis even after I showed them how such a flood would b impossible because the volume of water needed would be more than currently exists on Earth.
